The Ideal Morning Routine.

I don’t know about you but I am certainly one for ‘slow’ mornings, and meditation in the morning with a cup of tea in a peaceful surrounding.

This of course doesn’t always go to plan. In fact on a regular work morning it rarely goes to plan. I stumble out of bed, make my coffee, put my make up on, get dressed and race out of the house, debating if that extra half an hour in bed was worth it.

Today (as it is fact NOT a regular work morning) I decided to use my ideal morning routine. I woke up and allowed myself 10 minutes to fully wake up and notice my surroundings. I then went downstairs to make myself a honey and lemon in hot water and some toast. Note – I actually remembered to take my tablets for once. I left my phone upstairs for an hour whilst I did some reading and allowed my body to fully wake up without being engrossed in social media from the moment I woke up. I then took a long bath and allowed myself to fully relax. And there you have it, my ideal morning routine.

Yes, ideally I would love to start my morning like this every day but I simply don’t have the time. I am able to incorporate some of the routine e.g reading my book and not going on my phone as soon as my eyelids open.

The point of this is – self care is SO important even if you only have the time to fit it in once a week, taking care of yourself is necessary including your mental health. I think we all get caught up in this bubble of phone chained to hand from the start of the day until the end and so our minds just don’t get the chance to breathe basically!

So take time this week to make YOU time.

Ciao for now.
