How Change Can Help You Become a Better Person

We all make mistakes, in fact sometimes I feel like the only human being to have ever made as many mistakes as I have! And once upon a time, not that long ago, I use to fixate all my energy on the mistakes I made and be stuck in a vicious cycle of failing to forgive myself and so making more mistakes and feeling worse again.

Slowly, I’ve learnt to put all my energy in to learning from my mistakes and seeing what it is that I need to change about myself or my actions to avoid making the same mistake again.

Change is difficult but necessary, you definitely learn the most when you feel the worst. Change makes you feel vulnerable and uncomfortable, but from uncertain situations comes growth, always.

Over these last few years, I’ve certainly had to deal with a lot of change, some unexpected and some that I knew was coming. And from those changes I’ve learnt so much that’s led me to who I am and who I’m still striving to be.

So, ALWAYS embrace change.

No matter what our purpose is on this earth, I really believe that we should all treat each other with kindness. Yes, there are people you’re not going to get along with and vice versa. But why waste so much energy on being horrible to others? As the saying goes ‘if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all’.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I myself fall in to this trap, like I’ve said before, I am not in any way perfect but I try and try to remind myself of the above.

Even if you’ve done some things that you really aren’t proud of, start today fresh, with a clean slate. Write down what it is that you want to change and work on becoming that person every single day.

A change of mentality is also necessary. You can’t become who you want to be if your mind is stuck with the old. Become that person in your mind and slowly but surely you shall become that person naturally.

Ciao for now.
