How To Make A Difference

To read instead of watch on ‘how to make a difference’ scroll down past the vid :).

Today I wanted to discuss making a difference. We can ALL make a difference and that’s a fact.

We can’t stop wars from happening or change the president of the United States but we CAN make differences the people in our lives and outside.

Figure out these 2 things – what matters to you? And what do you want to see more of in the world?

That’s how you go about making a difference. We have to be passionate about whatever it is we’re trying to change or it just won’t work.

The truth is you never know how many people you can help through small gestures of kindness, social media or anything else. With the power of social media especially, we can use it to project kindness into the world instead of saying mean and negative things and trying to tear people down.

Give when you can, whether it’s clothes, blankets, donating money to a charity close to your heart, advice or even something as simple as a hug (if the receiver wants a hug of course!!!).

Lend a helping hand, whether it’s doing more around the house or some voluntary work. Every single thing we do makes a difference so we may as well do something good.

I cannot stress how much making any kind of difference matters, no matter how big or small of a gesture your brain says it is, it IS making a difference to someone.

Not only is making a difference positively good for other people in the world, it’s also good for us ourselves as it gives us a sense of purpose in life and that feel-good feeling. Unfortunately we can’t solve every problem in the world but what we can do is help each other whenever possible.

Use whatever you have to help others. Use your own creativity to think up different and effective ways of using your abilities or advantages to help those in the world.

Below I’ve listed a few simple but effective ways of making a difference, some you may deem silly but this is what works for me!

Here they are –

  • Be kinder.

  • Learn to be more selfless.

  • Keep up to date with the news (as easy as it is to not want to hear about the s**t and horrible things that go on in the world, it’s essential in order to know what’s going on around us).

  • Help someone whenever you can, whether it’s a friend, family member or stranger.

  • Make or sign a petition that matters to you.

  • Figure out what’s important and then research or figure out ways of making a difference.

  • Give to someone in need, a coffee for someone on the street or money to a charity that matters to you. Whatever you can give, give.

We all live on this earth. Sometimes life is hard and so why not use your time and energy to be kind and helpful to others? It really is as simple as that.

Ciao for now x
